Salah set to be left out of Liverpool squad for Inter clash

Mohamed Salah is set to be left out of the Liverpool squad for Tuesday’s trip to face Inter Milan in the Champions League.

Salah’s future at the club is in doubt after the forward’s controversial comments over the weekend. After being an unused substitute during the draw at Leeds, Salah, who has started the past three Premier League games on the bench, hit out at his treatment.

Speaking in the mixed zone after the fixture at Elland Road, Salah said he now has ‘no relationship’ with Arne Slot and feels as if Liverpool have ‘thrown him under the bus’ amid their poor recent results.

He also said he has told his parents to attend this weekend’s fixture with Brighton, hinting it could be his final game at Anfield.

Salah signed a new two-year deal at Liverpool in the summer, following a record-breaking 2024/25 campaign.

The Egyptian set a new record for Premier League goal involvements in a 38-game season, leading the league for goals and assists as Liverpool won the title. He secured a clean sweep of Player of the Season awards.

However, his form has dipped this season and Slot has opted against using the 33-year-old from the start in recent games.

Fabrizio Romano is reporting that internal discussions at Liverpool are now taking place to determine whether Salah travels with the squad for tomorrow’s Champions League clash at Inter . Slot is due to speak to the media at his pre-match press conference later today.
