Sarri was immediately whisked to hospital for health checks.

But there was good news as Lazio gave a swift update.

They confirmed that Sarri had been given the all-clear after thorough tests from doctors.

And the gaffer is due to take a training session on Wednesday evening.

It's reported by Dagospia that Sarri may have fallen ill due to the warm temperature in Rome.

The Italian capital hit a toasty 35 degrees today.

And that may have played some part in Sarri's hospitalisation.

The tactician only returned to Lazio last month, a year after resigning from the club over transfers.

Sarri had previously taken charge of Serie A rivals Napoli and Juventus, leading the latter to their last title win in 2020.

A year earlier, he won the Europa League with Chelsea before leaving after a single season.

Sarri's meticulous style of play failed to win over the Stamford Bridge faithful.

But despite battling the boo boys, Sarri led Chelsea to a third-place league finish before demolishing Arsenal 4-1 to win another European title.
