Scott McTominay backed for 'Bayern Munich or Real Madrid level' transfer
Scott McTominay has been backed for a transfer to 'a Bayern Munich or Real Madrid level' club following his impressive performances at Napoli .
McTominay has been a revelation in Naples since joining the Italian side from Manchester United in 2024.
The Scotland international scored 12 league goals in his debut campaign as Napoli won the Scudetto last season, performances which earned McTominay the Serie A Most Valuable Player award for 2024-25.
His form has continued for club and country this season. The 29-year-old scored an outstanding overhead kick as Scotland beat Denmark to secure World Cup qualification for the first time since 1998 in November.
At the weekend, McTominay was on target twice as Napoli held league leaders Inter Milan at the San Siro. He has eight goals in all competitions for Napoli this season.
McTominay's impact in Italy and led to suggestions from the Italian media over a potential hgigh-profile move.
Italian Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed he would not be surprised if clubs such as Bayern Munich or Real Madrid approached Napoli about a deal in the summer.
He added that Napoli would be reluctant to sell and that any fee would need to be in excess of €70m (£60.6m).
“He [McTominay] is a Bayern Munich or Real Madrid level player," Di Marzio said.
“The better he continues to perform, the more big European clubs could come calling in the summer.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if a club of that calibre comes in for him in the summer.
“For Napoli , he is priceless. For me, he is worth about €70m.”
