Seven players raise concerns over Xabi Alonso’s approach to senior club officials – report
More details continue to emerge surrounding Xabi Alonso’s departure from Real Madrid , and the latest revelations point towards a growing internal divide that went far beyond what was visible in public.
According to a recent disclosure by Cadena SER , dissatisfaction with Alonso’s methods had already reached senior figures inside the club well before the final decision was made.
It has been widely acknowledged in recent weeks that Alonso never fully managed to establish harmony within the dressing room.
While external attention often focused on Vinicius Jr., whose strained relationship with the coach became increasingly apparent, new information confirms that the Brazilian was not an isolated case.
Vinicius may have been the most vocal and visible example, but several other players were reportedly uncomfortable with how Alonso handled the squad.
During the broadcast, journalist Bruno Alemany provided a clearer picture of the scale of the unrest.
“Seven players, either directly or through third parties, had complained about Xabi Alonso’s methods to senior club officials.”

Adding further context, Alemany explained that voices within the coaching environment believe the situation could have evolved differently.
As he put it, “Sources within the coaching staff assert that, with a little more effort, things would have gone better.”
Crucially, the complaints did not stop at lower administrative levels. Alemany clarified just how high these concerns travelled within the club structure.
“To Florentino, among others, but not only to the president ,” he said.
While specific identities remain protected, the importance of the complaints is amplified by who was involved.
Alemany made this clear when he stated, “I’m not allowed to name names, but some of them are starters.”
To reinforce the reliability of the report, the journalist concluded by stressing the origin of the information, assuring listeners that “this information comes from sources within the team’s coaching staff.”
