The transfer fee and salary Barcelona will have to shell out for prolific Lewandowski successor – report
Barcelona’s search for a long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski has once again turned the spotlight towards the European market, and one name that continues to be strongly linked with the club is Harry Kane .
Earlier today, it emerged that the Catalans are actively exploring options for a new number 9 , especially with Lewandowski’s contract expiring at the end of the season.
Kane remains one of the standout candidates, but according to SPORT , neither the English striker nor Barcelona are rushing into a final decision.
From Barcelona’s perspective, several factors make Kane an attractive choice.
The club is aware that the Bayern Munich forward would be open to leaving Germany if offered a long-term deal, and crucially, the operation comes with a predefined cost.
Due to an exit clause inserted when he joined Bayern, Kane could be available next summer for around €65 million.
His wages, estimated at around €25 million gross per year, would also be within the range of what he currently earns in the Bundesliga, giving the deal more financial predictability.
There are also sporting motivations behind the interest. Kane has been relentless this season, which immediately strengthened his profile as a natural successor to Lewandowski.

Beyond his goal-scoring form, Barcelona’s internal evaluation of his physical condition is described as excellent.
There is also the added incentive that Kane remains obsessed with winning the Champions League, one of the key motivations behind his decision to join Bayern, and he has always been open to the idea of playing for Barcelona .
Still, the operation comes with complications. Kane continues to attract interest from several major clubs.
Although Premier League teams are not prioritising a move at the moment, PSG and two Saudi Arabian giants are prepared to make massive offers.
Barcelona know that for the deal to materialise, Kane would have to show the same determination Lewandowski displayed when he pushed for his move to Camp Nou.
Another internal debate revolves around Lewandowski’s own future.
He retains strong backing within the club for a one-year renewal, and if he continues scoring consistently, it will be difficult to justify parting ways with him even though he turns 38 next summer.
