Thomas Frank's Tottenham future is in DOUBT after toxic atmosphere during 2-1 home defeat by rivals West Ham - with hierarchy weighing up his fate amid Spurs fans' calling for his sacking

Thomas Frank ’s future at Tottenham is in serious doubt after supporters called for him to be sacked during their 2-1 home defeat by West Ham .

Daily Mail Sport understands the North London club are now considering a change of manager, but are not preparing an imminent announcement.

As it stands, the plan is for Frank to take charge for the visit of Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday. Beyond that, there is now uncertainty over how long he will be given to turn things around.

The message in the build-up to the West Ham game was that Frank had the support of the hierarchy and there was no appetite for change. However, such was the toxicity inside the stadium as Tottenham went down to a 93rd-minute defeat, it is thought the club are weighing up all options.

John Heitinga arrived as Frank’s assistant last week and, while it was insisted at the time that the former Ajax boss was not an interim-manager-in-waiting, his presence does provide Tottenham chiefs with a temporary option, should they decide to call time on the Dane’s seven months in charge.

Tottenham are 14th in the Premier League after a run of one win in eight in all competitions and home fans taunted Frank with chants of ‘You’re getting sacked in the morning’ after Callum Wilson ’s late winner for West Ham on Saturday.

After the game, Frank said: 'I’ve probably had better times, it’s probably not the best time of course. But I understand, I’m the man in charge. So the blame will go to me. That’s fair, no problem in that sense. As long as they are backing the players, doing everything they can, to support them and drive them forward, that’s what we do, and we will keep going forward.

'It’s a supertanker that we’re turning in the right direction and there are a lot of good signs behind the scenes and also in some of the performances. But when you lose last minute to one of your rivals, it is very emotional football and there will be noise. That noise we need to keep out there and get our heads down and keep working, keep doing the right thing.'
