Three Real Madrid stars back in group training ahead of Sevilla clash; defender still absent
Real Madrid returned from their midweek trip to La Mancha with an important victory over CF Talavera in Copa del Rey to progress to the Round of 16.
Up next for Los Blancos is their final La Liga match before the mid-season break as they take on Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday night.
Leading up to the contest against Los Nervionenses , Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso has been greeted with some positive news on the fitness front.
Indeed, according to journalist Melchor Ruiz of COPE , three injured Real Madrid stars, Antonio Rudiger, Eduardo Camavinga, and Ferland Mendy, jumped back to training with the group during today’s session.
Rudiger had been dealing with discomfort over the past week, but pushed himself to play against Alaves over the weekend given the number of absences in the squad.
However, the German international did not train with the group this week and ended up missing the cup tie against Talavera.

As for Camavinga, the French midfielder has been out of action since early December due to an ankle sprain that has led to him missing Real Madrid’s last three matches.
Mendy, on the other hand, was sidelined with a muscle injury that he suffered days after his first and only appearance of the season against Olympiacos and has missed five games since.
But all three trained with the group today, as did David Alaba, who had resumed working with the group even before the Copa del Rey clash.
However, as per the report, Raul Asencio is still recovering from a fever and did not train with the group today.
The La Fabrica graduate was withdrawn from the squad to face Talavera at the last minute on Wednesday due to the illness and he has yet to recover from it .
So, it remains to be seen if the young defender recovers in time to face Sevilla or not, considering that Alvaro Carreras will once again be unavailable due to suspension, while Eder Militao is also out through injury.
