Tottenham Hotspur will be desperate to avoid a third consecutive defeat in all competitions when they welcome an unpredictable Fulham side to North London for Saturday night’s Premier League derby.

Spurs come into this clash after being involved in a wild eight-goal thriller against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, ultimately falling short in a 5-3 defeat inspired by Vitinha’s hat-trick. While Tottenham showed more attacking promise in Paris than in their previous outing—a humbling 4-1 North London derby loss to Arsenal—their defensive frailties were again exposed. In fact, since the international break, Spurs have been conceding at an alarming rate, shipping a goal every 20 minutes on average over their last two games.

Despite their recent struggles, Tottenham remain four points ahead of Fulham in the Premier League standings and have managed five league wins so far this season. Both teams have found the net in each of Spurs’ last three matches in all competitions, and their last four fixtures have all produced over 3.5 goals.

Fulham, meanwhile, edged past Sunderland 1-0 last weekend thanks to a late Raul Jimenez strike. The Cottagers have shown improvement since a four-game losing streak, picking up two wins from their last three league matches. However, Marco Silva’s men have lost five of their last eight games overall, including each of their last four away matches in the Premier League. Fulham are still searching for their first away win of the campaign, with five defeats and a single draw—against Brighton on the opening weekend—from six road trips.

Tottenham have a strong recent record against Fulham at home, going unbeaten in their last six meetings and winning four of those. Both teams scored at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in last season’s fixture, and another open contest is likely, especially as Spurs have kept just one clean sheet in their last six games and Fulham have only failed to score twice in their last eight outings.

Despite sitting ninth in the table, Tottenham are just three points off the top four, and their attacking output—10 goals in their last four matches—remains a positive. However, only Wolves have collected fewer points at home than Spurs, and Fulham’s away form is among the worst in the league.

Fulham’s recent win over Sunderland lifted them three points clear of the relegation zone, but their away-day woes persist. Four of Fulham’s last five Premier League matches have seen just one team score, including each of their last three.
