Tottenham prepare surprise £25m bid for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville - just days after he scored against them!

Tottenham are planning another transfer raid on West Ham as they prepare a £25million bid for Crysencio Summerville.

Dutch winger Summerville, signed by the Hammers from Leeds in the summer of 2024, scored the opener in a 2-1 win for Nuno Espirito Santo ’s team at Spurs on Saturday.

He has extreme pace and technical trickery, and would address Thomas Frank ’s problem position, the void wide on the left of the front line since Son Heung-min ’s exit for the United States.

It would fit the profile Spurs like, young with scope to develop, add fresh energy and offer scope to grant Mathys Tel his wish to leave if Frank can find a replacement this month.

Tel joined Spurs on loan from Bayern Munich last January and made his move permanent in the summer but wants out after being dropped this week from the Champions League squad for the second time this season.

There is interest from Paris FC to take Tel on loan and the move appeals to the 20-year-old Parisian, who came through the academy at Rennes, as a chance to make a late run for the France squad at the World Cup year.

Summerville is 24 years old and a former Dutch U21 international. He joined Leeds from Feyenoord in 2020 and was prolific in 2023-24, with 19 goals and nine assists to win the EFL Championship Player of the Season.

He has been one of West Ham’s brightest forward players in a poor season with goals on his last two appearances and Nuno is unlikely to want him to leave as he fights to avoid relegation .

Spurs paid West Ham £55m last summer to sign Mohammed Kudus, who is out with a thigh muscle injury and not expected back until the end of March .
