“Absolutely crazy” – Man Utd receive double injury boost as insider drops major afternoon update
Manchester United stars Kobbie Mainoo and Lisandro Martinez will reportedly be included in the squad against Everton after receiving a late green light.
The young Englishman missed the Red Devils’ last contest before the international break with a knock, as his teammates registered a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.
On the other hand, the Argentine defender has been out with a torn ACL since February. Martinez has recently been making important strides in training , as his return to action is drawing ever closer.

On Monday morning, MUFC Academy revealed that Mainoo and Lisandro have been deemed unfit ahead of Monday evening’s contest against Everton.
Nevertheless, the Man Utd insider went on to deliver a fresh update in the afternoon, revealing that the two players managed to pass an athletic test, and they’re now set to receive a call-up for tonight’s contest at Old Trafford.
“Update: This is absolutely crazy but just been told Martinez and Kobbie have been cleared this afternoon. News prior to now was they won’t be involved. Had to correct this,” posted the source on X.

The same account had revealed in the morning that Matheus Cunha will also undergo a late test to prove his fitness, with Chido Obi waiting in the wings. At the moment of writing, it remains unclear whether the Brazilian attacker will be available or not.
While Mainoo and Lisandro’s returns will constitute important boosts for Ruben Amorim’s team, neither is expected to start.
The Englishman hasn’t been included in the starting XI in a Premier League contest since the start of the season. Mainoo has been considered a backup for club captain Bruno Fernandes , who got the nod on every occasion thus far.
As for Martinez, his lengthy absence means he must be gradually reintroduced rather than being thrust into the starting lineup.
