Alan Shearer has provided us with his latest Premier League predictions ahead of another packed weekend of top flight action.

Arsenal’s slip-up at Aston Villa has opened things up at the top again with the gap between them and Manchester City just two points. Villa are just a further point behind in third.

The Gunners are at home to rock-bottom Wolves on Saturday while Manchester City are on the road at Crystal Palace . Villa can keep the pressure on away at West Ham United.

No wins in three league games has seen Chelsea tail off and the Blues welcome in-form Everton at Stamford Bridge.

All eyes will be on whether Mohamed Salah is in the Liverpool team when they take on Brighton while there is the small matter of the Tyne-Wear derby taking centre stage on Sunday as Sunderland host Newcastle United.

As ever, England legend and Betfair ambassador Alan Shearer has revealed his Premier League predictions to Metro .

David Moyes has Everton playing some good football and they’re solid.

Chelsea are under pressure so this is really tough to predict. I think Everton will get a result here, so I’ll go for a draw.

Prediction? Draw

It’s a really tough game for Liverpool. I guess it’s easier playing away when you’re under pressure because the scrutiny from home crowds is a lot higher. Liverpool have to try and block out all the noise again and it’s massive for Liverpool.

They’ve silenced things for a few days after beating Inter and they have to keep doing that. Whether they can or not is a tough one. I guess Slot’s team selection will be similar to Tuesday evening.

I’ll back Liverpool to carry on from their good result in midweek and say Liverpool win.

Prediction? Liverpool win

Another tough one to predict. Burnley are in poor form. I watched them last week against Newcastle and I know Scott Parker came out to say it was their best performance of the season, but I wouldn’t agree with that. I wasn’t impressed with them at all. I’ll go for a Fulham win.

I thought Burnley would struggle even before a ball was kicked and that’s what’s happened. It’s not a surprise to me where they are in the table – I think they’ll be relegated.

Prediction? Fulham win

There hasn’t been an uplift at all from Wolves. They have just two points in the league. They don’t score any goals and basically, I give them no chance and no hope this weekend and for their survival chances.

Wolves aren’t far off being the worst Premier League team in history. I don’t see any positive from them this season and I can’t see any improvement happening. They tried changing management and there’s been no improvement.

Arsenal need a nice, positive win and to get a bit of belief and confidence back – and as I said, if you need one game at home after a defeat, you’d want Wolves.

Prediction? Arsenal win

Oliver Glasner is doing an amazing job at Palace. They’re in European action on Thursday as City were yesterday so this is tough to call.

Anyone who plays Crystal Palace this season know they’re in for a tough game. I’ll go for a draw because I think Palace will put up a right good fight and I like the way they are.

This is a tough one to call again. The manager bounce when Sean Dyche arrived seems to have stalled a bit, but I think they can come good again on Sunday and I’ll go for a Forest win. It’ll be tight, but I’ll go for Forest to win.

Prediction? Nottingham Forest win

As tough as it’s going to be, I do think Newcastle will go there and win. Sometimes you’re better off flipping a coin because forget about form, who’s doing well.. it doesn’t matter. It’s a derby and we all know what happens. I hope the referee is strong and allows one or two things to go because that adds to the excitement. I’ll go for an away win.

I’m looking forward to it. I can’t wait.

Because of how Villa played last weekend and the form they’re in, I’ll go for an away win

West Ham have improved under Nuno and are tougher to play against, but I think Villa will just have too much for them and I’ll go for an away win.

Prediction? Aston Villa win

It’s a huge game for both sides. Leeds had a great week against Chelsea and Liverpool. They’ve got character and are willing to fight but I think it’ll be different away from home.

I’ll go for a home win and for Brentford to bounce back.

Prediction? Brentford win
