Double strike before the 2026 World Cup? Bayern wants to extend top stars quickly

While FC Bayern are deliberately keeping a low profile in the winter transfer market, planning for the summer is already in full swing. Those responsible are not only focusing on potential new additions, but above all on the existing squad. Chief Sports Officer Max Eberl is pursuing the clear goal of binding the pillars of the current team to the club in the long term – and creating facts early on

Despite a comparatively lean squad, Vincent Kompany’s team is stable, dominant and versatile. A healthy mix of experienced leaders such as Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich and Harry Kane and young performers such as Jamal Musiala, Lennart Karl, Aleksandar Pavlovic and Jonas Urbig ensures balance and development at the same time

There is therefore a consensus at Säbener Straße to keep this core together as far as possible. There should be no unnecessary risks, especially with the absolute top performers. As reported by Sport BILD , two names in particular are at the top of the internal to-do list: Harry Kane and Michael Olise

According to BILD , the first informal talks about a contract extension have already taken place in the case of Harry Kane . The Englishman is currently tied to FC Bayern until 2027, but both sides can well imagine continuing their collaboration. A new two-year contract until 2029 is therefore being discussed

What is particularly interesting is that Bayern would like to get this extension over the line before the 2026 World Cup. Kane should be able to concentrate fully on the tournament without his contract situation becoming a disruptive factor. In view of his sporting importance and his role as a leading player, the attacker has long been more than just a goalscorer – he is a fixture in the entire Bayern project

Munich are taking a similarly determined approach with Michael Olise . The 24-year-old is still under contract until 2029, but Eberl and Co. are not waiting around here either. According to Sport BILD , the record champions are aiming for an early extension until 2031 – ideally also before the 2026 World Cup in the USA, Canada and Mexico

Olise has quickly developed into one of Bayern’s most valuable players. With 33 goals in 28 competitive games, the Frenchman has delivered top-level figures this season and has long been one of the most eye-catching attacking players in Europe. Interest from abroad is correspondingly high, with Manchester City, Liverpool FC and Real Madrid all said to be keeping a close eye on the winger

An early contract extension should not only create planning security, but also significantly minimize the risk of a premature departure. The direction is clear: FC Bayern is focusing on stability, trust and long-term commitment – and Kane and Olise should remain the central faces of this new Bayern era.
