Arne Slot could not help but take a swipe at Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher after their 1-0 triumph over Real Madrid . The Dutchman shared his dressing room's sentiments about the former defender, poking fun at the lack of Premier League titles won during his playing days.
Dominik Szoboszlai also joined the discussion from the CBS panel regarding the internal view of the player-turned-pundit. Since hanging up his boots, Carragher has taken a seat in the Sky studio, where he often analyses Liverpool's performances, which have been primarily positive until a recent rough patch.
However, the Reds have bounced back with two victories and two clean sheets in their last two matches, reigniting hope at Anfield. Carragher was present to witness Liverpool defeat Real Madrid for the second consecutive season, with Alexis Mac Allister 's header making all the difference.
The Argentine's goal just past the hour mark shattered Madrid's resistance, spurred on by another stellar performance from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois . Stepping away from the serious discussions about tactics, philosophy and individual form, CBS caught up with both Slot and Szoboszlai following this latest milestone victory for the current generation of Liverpool stars.
The panel were keen to discover whether the Reds' dressing room holds affection for the Champions League -winning defender. It follows Virgil van Dijk becoming embroiled in a public spat with Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney , which entered its third round on Tuesday .
However, the Hungarian remained diplomatic when questioned alongside Carragher, stating: "He is popular everywhere... all around the world . I think you can't name anyone who doesn't like him...."

The pundit replied: "Eh, that surprised you." But the characteristically sharp-witted Slot couldn't help but hit back at Carragher, following their tactical debate after the opening day victory over Bournemouth in August.
When the Liverpool manager asked the same question about Carragher regarding dressing room sentiment, the Dutchman shot back: "As a player or as a pundit?"
Everyone erupted in laughter before Slot continued: "Did you speak to one of our players because this is what our players say about Jamie as well? [Not being a Premier League-winner]."
It is not the first occasion that the internal response to the former Liverpool defender has come to light. Carragher was outspoken during Mohamed Salah 's contract dispute.
The 47-year-old found himself in a public spat with the Egyptian star after dubbing the Reds legend "selfish" for his role in the deadlock. That led to a playful remark from Andy Robertson last season, who quipped: "He's [Carragher] been getting a bit of stick in the dressing room this week, that's for sure."
