Ashley Cole, Andy Cole and John Terry were added last year.

That took the total tally to 24 - including managers Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger.

In previous years, a public fan vote determined the new inductees from a list of candidates.

However, for the 2025 additions, there is a new format.

As usual, an online public poll will still play a part.

But now the fans do not get the final say.

Instead, the results of the vote will be shared with the existing 24 members.

And the current Hall of Fame then decides which two ex-players join the exclusive club.

The results will be confirmed at a Premier League event in early November.

The nominees for the 2025 induction are Sol Campbell, Michael Carrick, Jermain Defoe, Patrice Evra, Cesc Fabregas, Les Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler, Eden Hazard, Gary Neville, Michael Owen, Teddy Sheringham, David Silva, Yaya Toure, Edwin van der Sar and Nemanja Vidic - as Ryan Giggs once again missed out .

In order to be eligible for a Premier League Hall of Fame nomination, players have to be retired before the start of the awarding season.

And they are only judged on their performances in the Premier League .

Any possible candidates also must have played 250 appearances in the Premier League or achieved one of 200 appearances for one club, been in a Team of the Decade, won the Golden Boot or Golden Glove, been voted Player of the Season, won three Premier League titles, scored 100 Premier League goals or kept 100 clean sheets as a goalkeeper.
