Harry Amass will not be involved in Saturday’s pre-season clash against Leeds after Manchester United made a decision on his future at the club.

The Red Devils take on their rivals in Stockholm this weekend as both teams get ready for the upcoming 2025-26 Premier League campaign.

Amass was expected to be involved in the match against Leeds, given the teenager played in both games during United’s post-season tour of Asia.

But according to reports , United have decided to sent Amass out on loan for 2025-26, leaving him out of the squad for Saturday’s game as a result.

Amass made seven first-team appearances last season – including four Premier League starts – but United want him to get more regular game time under his belt to continue his development.

There’s reported to be a ‘lot of interest’ in the 18-year-old defender, who made his United debut under head coach Ruben Amorim in March.

Amass is facing increased competition for the role of a back-up left-sided defender following the signing of Paraguay U20 international Diego Leon.

But Amass ‘remains highly thought of’ at Old Trafford and the club are currently unwilling to sell him in a permanent deal.

Amorim is a big fan of Amass, singling him out for praise after a 4-1 defeat to Newcastle United in April.

Amass, capped seven times by England U18s, joined United from Watford in the summer of 2023 following a compensation agreement.

The young left-back is currently under contract at United until the summer of 2027.

While Amass has been left out of Saturday’s pre-season showdown with Leeds – fellow left-back Leon has not – and is set to be involved instead.

United confirmed the signing of the South American teen earlier this monthfrom Cerro Porteño and he’s just been handed the No.30 shirt.

‘I want to thank God for giving me the opportunity to defend such a great badge as Manchester United,’ Leon, who appears to have moved above Amass in the United pecking order, wrote on Instagram.
