Man Utd, Newcastle Eye Sesko in £70m Striker Battle

The summer transfer window will soon overlap with the Premier League season. The campaign is a little over two weeks away, and several sagas still need to play out.

Manchester United and Newcastle could yet involve themselves in a transfer battle for Benjamin Sesko, who looks like he could well leave RB Leipzig. The Red Devils want a new No 9 and the Magpies too could go after the young striker.

Newcastle will only do so, however, if Alexander Isak does leave St James' Park after expressing a desire to look elsewhere . If he does leave then his likely destination will be Liverpool, who would then have spent upwards of £300million in one summer and potentially broken the British-transfer record twice in a matter of weeks.

Arsenal continue to chase Eberechi Eze after landing Viktor Gyokeres with Mikel Arteta hitting the market hard this summer. There are also a number of individuals who need to iron out their futures - Jadon Sancho and Jack Grealish among them.

Liverpool beat Arsenal to Salford teen star

Arsenal are set to miss out on Salford City's teenage star Will Wright, who instead looks poised to head to Liverpool. The Reds have agreed a deal worth £200,000 with the League Two side for the 17-year-old striker, who scored more than 50 goals across age groups last season.

Wright underwent a medical on Tuesday and a deal to take him to Anfield is now in its final stages. The Gunners were previously favourites to sign the young star, but appear to have missed out with those in the north west winning out.

Glasner's Eze plea

Oliver Glasner has pleaded with the Palace board not to sell any of their star players such as Eze, warning that it could derail their season. The 27-year-old is wanted by Arsenal, who've made him their priority as we approach the final month of the summer.

Marc Guehi is also being linked with a move to Liverpool after the Palace captain entered the final 12 months of his contract. Eze, meanwhile, is tied down until 2027 but has a £68m release clause.

Isak's Liverpool wages

Alexander Isak is reportedly set to become one of Liverpool's top earners if he seals a move to Anfield this summer.

The Reds have been strongly linked with a move for the Sweden international, who could cost as much as £150million after his sensational displays in front of goal last season, scoring 27 times.

According to Sky in Germany, Isak would earn around the same amount as new signing Hugo Ekitike, who has just penned a deal worth £250,000-a-week.

Sesko's price tag

Man United could have to spend upwards of £70million if they want to land Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig as talks are held over signing the striker. The Slovenian has now emerged as their main target in attack with Ruben Amorim still keen to land a No. 9 this summer if he can.

Sources in Germany have indicated there is a gentlemen’s agreement between Leipzig and their young striker to let him leave for a fee of £60m to £70m plus add-ons - but only to select clubs. The German side have consistently shown they will part with their top players for the right fee and do not have the benefit of Champions League revenue this term.
