Manchester United injury update: Benjamin Sesko, Lisandro Martinez, Harry Maguire latest news and return dates
Man Utd could get a triple injury boost ahead of facing Everton , but Benjamin Sesko is expected to miss out
Man Utd face Everton at Old Trafford next Monday and Ruben Amorim is likely to be without £73.7million summer signing Benjamin Sesko .
While Amorim should have some key players available for the visit of the Toffees, the expected absence of Sesko would be a setback for the slowly improving Red Devils, given he is one of only two natural centre-forwards in the senior squad.
When factoring in the impact next month's Africa Cup of Nations will have on Man United , they will be desperate for some luck on the fitness front.
With that in mind, here’s a look at the latest Manchester United injuries .
The 22-year-old headed straight down the tunnel during the 2-2 draw at Tottenham before the international break.
Sesko was clearly struggling with his knee after being denied a goal by a superb recovery tackle from Micky van de Ven.
After the match, Amorim delivered a worrying update: "That [his recent form] is not the biggest concern now. I'm concerned with an injury, because it is in the knee, and I don't know.
"We need Ben [Sesko] to be a better team. We have to check. He has something in his knee. Let's see."
Sesko subsequently did not go away for international duty with Slovenia and reports claim he will be out for ‘a few weeks’, meaning he could stand to miss some key matches .
Potential return date: December 2025
In a massive boost for Manchester United , Lisandro Martinez is fully fit after spending most of the year on the sidelines recovering from an ACL injury.
The Argentine was back in full training before the draw against Nottingham Forest, but Amorim opted to not name the defender in the matchday squad and repeated the decision a week later for the trip to north London.
"He (Martinez) wants to go to this one [Forest], he isn't going to this one,” Amorim said. “He's going to need time. He has started training with us. Slowly he is going to get better.
"It's really good. He gives us that edge in every training session, that is also really good for us.”
During the international break, Martinez was granted permission by Man Utd to link up with his national team just to train with the squad in Spain ahead of their friendly with Angola last Friday .
Martinez is thought to be nearing a return to action and a home game against Everton could be the ideal time for his first team reintroduction.
Potential return date: November 24, 2025 vs Everton (H)
Harry Maguire was restored to the Manchester United starting XI against Spurs, but his afternoon came to an end much earlier than he would have liked because of a hamstring issue.
The experienced defender and Casemiro were substituted at the same time, with the team going on to concede twice afterwards.
"When we have to take out Maguire and Casemiro at the same time, then suffer two goals, then losing Ben, you have to overcome everything,” Amorim said in the post-match press conference.
Casemiro has since shaken off a knock to feature for Brazil and perhaps the two-week break may have healed Maguire so he can face Everton .

Manchester United were dealt a blow before kick-off against Tottenham as Kobbie Mainoo was ruled out with a knock.
The midfielder's place in the squad was taken by youngster Jack Fletcher, son of former Man United midfielder and the club’s current Under-18’s coach, Darren.
This allowed United to preserve their proud record of having an academy player in every matchday squad for over 4,000 games, dating back to 1937.
Mainoo's knock has been described as minor , so he should be available for selection after the international break.
