Official: Real Madrid key defender out with hamstring injury; will miss four months
In a devastating development, Real Madrid have officially announced that Eder Militao has suffered a serious hamstring injury.
“Following tests carried out on our player Eder Militao by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a tear in the biceps femoris muscle of his left leg with involvement of the proximal tendon. His recovery will be monitored,” the statement read.
Militao has had tough luck with injuries in recent seasons. After missing almost the entirety of the last two seasons with back-to-back ACL injuries, the Brazilian had started the current campaign strongly.

A muscle injury meant he missed a couple of matches, but he was once again a permanent fixture in the team, and started against Celta Vigo, before being taken off in the 24th minute with the injury.
Early fears of a hamstring tear have now been confirmed, with journalist Miguel Angel Diaz of COPE revealing that Militao is expected to be out for a period of four months.
This comes as a bitter blow for Real Madrid , especially at a time when the team is not performing at the level expected.
For now, it has been decided that the Brazilian international will not undergo any surgery.
